Colours
Colours stands at 135 13 Avenue SW, on the Victoria Park side of the Beltline, a block and a half north of Chocolate and part of the same First Street Village group Battistella Developments built along this stretch. It is the second of the two, and the taller.
The building
Twenty-three storeys, finished in 2009. The name comes from the building itself. A two-storey glass panel artwork occupies the second and third levels, and a red exterior wall runs alongside it, and between them they gave the project its title before it had residents. Inside, the programme follows Chocolate. Floor-to-ceiling glass walls, polished concrete, open plans, and industrial-style finishes. Colours stands four storeys taller than Chocolate and went up three years later, and the same developer carried the vocabulary on to INK in East Village and Lido in Kensington.
The fourth floor carries a common patio planted with foliage and landscaping. Fifteen mountain bikes sit at the disposal of residents to borrow, and a car share programme runs from the building alongside them.
Recycling is handled on site through building bins, and air conditioning is centralised. Parking stalls are titled, and three retail condominium spaces occupy the ground floor.
What is around it
The MNP Community & Sport Centre sits in Lindsay Park on Macleod Trail, and the Elbow River runs past it. The 17 Avenue SW retail strip is four blocks south. Central Memorial Park sits west along 13 Avenue with the sandstone library at its east end. The 7 Avenue CTrain platforms are five blocks north at the top of the district, and the Victoria Park and Stampede station on the Red Line is southeast toward Stampede Park. The 1 Street SW corridor runs north from the door toward the office grid.
Two towers by one developer on one stretch of 1 Street tells you something about how this district filled in, and we cover it in Living in Beltline.
As of August 2026, Colours allows short-term rentals. Confirm the current position with the condominium corporation before writing an offer.
