Nude
Nude stands on 14 Avenue SW in the west end of the Beltline. It runs 18 storeys and 177 homes, and it reaches about 63 metres. Battistella Developments built it and S2 Architecture was prime consultant, covering both the architecture and the interiors. Civic addresses on record read 1315 and 1319 14 Avenue SW, and the two do not reconcile from outside.
The main floor carries 177 bike storage stalls with a maintenance station beside them, and the building holds a pet grooming and wash station. A penthouse resident lounge occupies the top of the tower with its own kitchen, and the rooftop patio beside it holds a barbecue kitchen and a fire table. Battistella runs a community coordinator who organises resident events.
The building
The interiors leave the structure showing. Floors are polished concrete and ceilings are exposed concrete at about nine and a half feet. S2 Architecture carried the building as prime consultant, taking the architecture and the interior design under one contract rather than splitting the two between firms.
The building register records the height at about 63 metres over those 18 storeys, with 177 homes in it. Battistella's own site could not be reached during this pass, so the completion year is left out rather than taken from a listing page.
What sits around it
The west Beltline is the stretch between 14 Street SW and roughly 8 Street, closer to the residential grain of Connaught than to the towers over by Victoria Park. Seventeenth Avenue SW is three blocks south, a dense run of shops and restaurants that took the Red Mile name in 2004.
Sunalta station sits west on the Blue Line, opened in 2012 and reachable on foot in about twelve minutes. The 7 Avenue corridor is north, where 8 Street SW puts both lines within a short walk. The Beltline itself was assembled in 2003 out of Connaught, dating to 1905, and Victoria Park, dating to 1914, and its name comes from an early streetcar route.
