Vetro
Vetro stands at 210 15 Avenue SE, on the Victoria Park side of the Beltline in the Warehouse District. It reaches 115.9 metres over 34 storeys and completed in 2008. Cove Properties developed it and Abugov Kaspar designed it.
The taller of a pair
Vetro and Sasso were drawn together and share a multilevel commercial podium. Sasso was largely finished in 2006 while Vetro was still rising, and the pair was recorded as collectively completed in 2008 at 502 homes between them. The materials are concrete, brick, Tyndall stone, and glass, and the crowns carry flying buttresses and finials, an ornamental register that almost nothing else built in Calgary that decade attempted.
On completion Vetro was the tallest residential tower in the city, and it held that position until The Guardian went up a few blocks north. One retrospective reverses the two towers, putting 34 storeys on Sasso and 24 on Vetro. The city height register and the listing databases both put 34 on Vetro, which is the reading used here.
The amenity complex runs over two levels, carrying a fitness centre, a hot tub, steam rooms and saunas, a private theatre, a billiards room, and a party room. A rooftop garden sits above it.
The parkade runs four levels below grade, with titled and heated stalls alongside dedicated guest parking. Homes carry an assigned storage locker, and a secured bike room sits inside the building. Concierge and security services cover the property.
What sits around it
Victoria Park ran as its own community from 1914 until the Beltline absorbed it in 2003. Victoria Park and Stampede station is close by on the Red Line, opened in 1981 and rebuilt in 2024 as part of the works around the grounds. Lindsay Park is south across the Elbow.
The BMO Centre expansion opened at Stampede Park in June 2024, the largest convention facility in western Canada and the anchor of the Culture + Entertainment District taking shape across east Victoria Park. Stampede Park carries more than a thousand events a year beyond the ten days of the Calgary Stampede each July. Seventeenth Avenue SW runs south, and Central Memorial Park lies west along 12 Avenue.
