Cambrian Heights

Rolling ground at the base of Nose Hill, established 1957.

The land was annexed in 1910 and sat until substantial building began in 1957. John Laurie Boulevard and 40 Avenue close the north, 14 Street the west with Nose Hill across it, Northmount Drive and Cambrian Drive the south, and the eastern line steps along 9 Street, 38 Avenue, 10 Street and 32 Avenue before handing over to Confederation Park. The ground never stays flat for a block, so the houses are sited to the grade and the higher corners take a slice of downtown. Confederation Park opened in 1967 and Nose Hill became a park in 1980, which gave a 1957 community two enormous neighbours it was not built next to.
