Glenbrook

Fifties bungalows on the Sarcee Trail edge, around a community rink with a roof on it.

The land was annexed in two pieces, part in 1954 and part in 1956, and Glenbrook was established in 1958. The community runs from 26 Avenue to Richmond Road with 37 Street on the east and Sarcee Trail on the west, and the plan splits between a near-grid on the eastern half and the Gl crescents on the western. Late-fifties bungalows on generous lots are the founding stock, with duplexes threaded through and condominium and apartment buildings taking roughly a third of the addresses along the edges. The community association on 45 Street operates an indoor rink.
