McKenzie Towne

A neotraditional community built from 1995 around High Street.

McKenzie Towne sits in the city's southeast between 130 Avenue SE on the north, 52 Street SE on the east, Stoney Trail on the south and Deerfoot Trail on the west. Carma Developers received land use approval for its first stages in 1994, and the residents' association dates the community to 1995. The City's plan calls it a neotraditionally designed community of four residential neighbourhoods and a commercial towne centre, with High Street as the centre's main street. An encumbrance on every property makes its owner a member of the McKenzie Towne Council, which keeps the Inverness Square gazebo and the Clock Tower among its amenities.
