Roxboro

A hundred and sixty-nine lots in a bend of the Elbow, and very little else.

The land came into the city in 1907, subdivision began in 1912, the community was established in 1923, and it was not finished until the end of that decade. Roxboro and Rideau Park were designated communities of the city together in 1967 and have shared one association since. The Elbow River closes the north and west and 33rd Avenue the south, so nothing crosses Roxboro on the way anywhere else. Of 169 assessed parcels, 164 carry the same low-density residential designation and 46 date from the 1920s. Lot sizes barely move, a median of 586 square metres against a tenth percentile of 557, which is the fact that describes these streets better than any adjective.
