Skyview Ranch
The Atlas
Your Sunday at the library starts among the shops at SkyPointe Landing, on Country Hills Boulevard. The Library's prototype branch opens at noon in a 3,000-square-foot retail unit, and The Chai Hut, in the same centre, has been pouring masala chai since eight.
Grounds
Skyview Ranch covers about 2.3 square kilometres in the city's northeast, a near-rectangle between 128 Avenue and Country Hills Boulevard, Metis Trail and 60 Street, with one strip reaching south of the boulevard. All of it came into the city in the 1989 annexation, on the City's own annexation map, and CREB's newsroom reported in 2015 that Walton was developing it. The Skyview Ranch Community Association registered as a provincial society on August 23 2011.
The Calgary Board of Education named Prairie Sky School for the community's place on the city's easternmost boundary, beside prairie land under open sky. The City's map now puts Cornerstone across 60 Street. The ponds inside the boundary carry no name on the City's water layer. We look for a pond's name before we write about it, and where the records give none, we name the park by its corner.
Homes
The City's 2026 assessment roll dates three quarters of the residential parcels to the 2010s, with about 400 from the 2000s and close to 1,200 since 2020. CREB's newsroom reported in January 2016 that Walton had sold out its new detached homes, with two apartment-style condominium projects still selling units, and in 2021 that the new-build single-family homes had sold out, noting the multi-family options in the area.
The City's licence list shows the newest buildings arriving. Four apartment buildings of four storeys or more took operator licences in 2026 under Zen Residential names, three on Skyview Bay and one on Skyview Ranch Road, the latest, ONE51 on Skyview Bay, on September 10. We check the first-issue date on a new building's licence before we read its brochure, because the date says how long the building has been running.

Everyday
Calgary Public Library announced its prototype branch open on October 9 2024, in a 3,000-square-foot retail unit at SkyPointe Landing, 6004 Country Hills Boulevard, focused on digital services and technology access, and it says the prototype will inform the design of a planned permanent branch for the area. The City planned a recreation centre on the Skyview Ranch Civic Site, 11 to 13 acres near Country Hills Boulevard and 60 Street, took public comment from May 6 to June 6 2025, and has since paused the project over land ownership and development, with no confirmed timeline.
Prairie Sky School, a Calgary Board of Education school for elementary and junior high grades on Skyview Ranch Road, and Apostles of Jesus, a Calgary Catholic School District school for the same grades on Skyview Ranch Street, share one City park site of about 12 hectares. Designations change year to year, so confirm current catchments with the Calgary Board of Education and the Calgary Catholic School District. Calgary Transit's 2012 functional plan runs a future Blue Line north along the west side of 60 Street and then west on the north side of 128 Avenue, with a below-grade station at Country Hills Boulevard and another on 128 Avenue, east of its crossing with Metis Trail. The City's design work today covers the one kilometre from Saddletowne Station to 88 Avenue, and neither the plan nor the City's project page dates a station north of it.
Edges
128 Avenue closes the north, Redstone across, and Metis Trail the west, the Stonegate Landing industrial district across. Country Hills Boulevard runs the south, Cityscape across, and 60 Street the east, Cornerstone across. East of Skyview Parkway the line drops below the boulevard to take in a strip beside 60 Street, Cityscape to its west and south. The wider map sits on the full neighbourhoods index.
