Arris Residences
Arris stands at 530 3 Street SE in East Village, the district Calgary Municipal Land Corporation has been rebuilding on the flats where the Bow and the Elbow meet. It is the tallest thing in the neighbourhood and among the taller residential towers in the city, at 39 storeys and 142 metres, and the first residents moved in during May 2024.
The building
Hossein Amanat drew it. Bosa Development built it as a two-tower project, with a for-sale tower and a rental tower sharing one podium of commercial space at the base. A grocery store anchors that podium. The residents' clubhouse is a standalone building rather than a floor of the tower, and it holds a fitness facility, a sauna, a steam room, an indoor pool, and video conference rooms.
A yoga room and a spin studio join the fitness facility. A lap pool and a hot tub come with the indoor pool, and change rooms with showers serve them.
A kitchen with private dining for twenty is available, along with study rooms. Outside, a landscaped terrace carries walking paths, open lawn, barbecue nooks, and benches, with a pet park on the grounds. The lobby is attended around the clock and a concierge works it. Package lockers and storage lockers are both secured. Underground parking is heated and carries EV charging stations. Retail runs under the tower with indoor access from the residences, over 170,000 square feet of it.
What is around it
RiverWalk runs along the Bow a block north and continues around St Patrick's Island, which was rebuilt as a park in 2015 and connects across the Bow to Bridgeland. The Central Library, opened in 2018, sits at the west edge of East Village where the district meets the downtown core. Studio Bell and the Simmons Building are both within a few blocks. City Hall CTrain station is on the west side of the district, carrying both lines.
