Vogue
Vogue stands at 930 6 Avenue SW, toward the western edge of downtown Calgary. It reaches 125 metres over 36 storeys and completed in 2017, which puts it among the taller residential buildings in the city. The La Caille Group developed it. S2 Architecture designed it and ITC Construction Group built it.
The building
The tower carries 232 homes over a mixed-use base holding retail and office space, with three levels of parking below grade. The amenity floor runs a rooftop gym of about 3,000 square feet, a yoga studio, a party room, and a game room. One building register counts 37 floors above ground where the city height table and a second register both read 36, so the lower figure is used here. The height is stable at 125 metres to the spire across three sources.
A full-time concierge works the lobby. An owners’ lounge joins the amenity floor, and a further lounge occupies the thirty-sixth floor. More than one rooftop terrace opens onto the city.
Parking is titled and heated below grade, with indoor visitor stalls. Homes carry a storage locker, secured bicycle storage sits in the building, three high-speed elevators serve the tower, and the suites run central air conditioning.
The Downtown West End
The Downtown West End runs from the Bow River south to the CP tracks, and from 9 Street W west to 14 Street W. It is a high-density residential pocket where towers rather than houses set the pattern, with only a couple of dozen single-family homes left in it. The community dates to 1884, the year after the railway arrived.
Downtown West and Kerby station opened on the Blue Line in 2012, and the 7 Avenue corridor carries both lines east through the core from 8 Street SW. Contemporary Calgary occupies the former Centennial Planetarium a short walk away, and Cowboys Park and the Mewata Armouries sit in the same few blocks. Paved multi-use paths run the northern rim along the Bow, and the building is part of the Plus 15 network.
